My favorite park in all of Texas!! It's cozy, taken care of, and I've never seen so much wildlife elsewhere! Tip, wait till it begins to get dark...that's when animals start coming out. There's a ton of deer, hare, racoons, vultures and fireflies. Camp overnight in a tent if you can. That place feels magical!
Close to Houston. Very clean and well maintained (freshly mowed and even the fire pit was clean.) Full hook up shady sites with picnic tables and fire pits. Squirrels, birds, deer, fireflies and stars at night. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and peaceful. We wanted to rest and this was perfect. We will be back!
Very well kept up State Park. Deer and squirrels out in out in the morning (before it gets too hot). If you want a quiet place to camp in the woods close to Houston, I definitely recommend this one!
Been to a lot of State Parks and private rv parks. SFA State Park is first class! Cleanliness, hiking trails, bathrooms/showers, shaded sites, helpful courteous staff make it a pleasure! Getting affordable reservations a snap! Texas has got its act together!!
Has been close since 8/27/17, until further notice, I hope they open it soon, love the bike trails.
